Descripción
Sumario:Building on the best-selling tradition of previous editions, Classical Mythology, Ninth Edition, is the most comprehensive survey of classical mythology available in one volume. Featuring the authors' extensive translations of original sources as well as their clear explanations and commentary, the book brings to life the myths and legends of Greece and Rome in a lucid and engaging style. The text contains a wide variety of faithfully translated passages from Greek and Latin sources, including Homer, Hesiod, all the Homeric Hymns, Pindar, Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, Herodotus, Plato, Lucian, Lucretius, Vergil, Ovid, and Seneca. In addition, it offers historical and cultural background on the myths, including evidence from art and archaeology, as well as ample interpretive material. The map program has been revised and enhanced. Michael Sham, who wrote the study guide for past editions and was also the main author of the extensive website and ancillaries, has joined Morford and Lenardon as a coauthor.
Notas:"This text is based on a North American work but has been modified from the original to better serve students in other locales. It is not for sale in North America."
