Description
Summary:Evaluation of Practical Experience and Conceptual Development within the Context of Practical Theology In the development of the hospice movement opportunities and chances to enhance awareness in people who are not directly confronted with those dying or others in mourning has been lacking. Hospice volunteers in conjunction with adult education trainers, artists, therapists, councillors and other professionals invite such volunteers to take part in a personal reflection and discussion round on the subject of life as seen out of the perspective of life being a limited amount of time. Dr. Küpper-Popp presents an educational training concept which is open to all in that she offers reflections out of practical experience in adult education and schooling as well as conveying the gains which have come from practical theology and its applied sciences. Through her desire to draw the relationship between a blocking out of death and a life lived in confinement into one’s consciousness this study makes a contribution to religious education and counselling when dealing with the subject of life and death. She ecourages hospice workers and volunteers to not only be active in hospice care, which falls under the umbrella of our current health care system, but even more, to become active in the hospice movement, thus broadening and maturing present awareness of life.
