Sumario:This doctoral thesis by Janet Otmara Martínez Cid explores the structural analysis of beam-column joints in Cuba's Multiple Application System (SMAC). Focusing on the wedge effect, the research employs numerical modeling techniques to evaluate the performance of these joints. The study aims to extend the application of these innovative connections, originally designed for social projects, to residential construction. Using the Finite Element Method, the research develops a computational model calibrated with real-scale tests to analyze geometric parameters influencing joint performance.
