Sumario: | This dissertation examines the impact of Prosopis juliflora on pasture composition, the behavior of lactating cows, and the economic viability of silvopastoral systems in Ecuador. Conducted by Jacinto Alex Roca Cedeño, the study involves field experiments and economic analyses to determine optimal tree densities for enhancing forage balance, nitrogen and energy levels, and milk yield. It concludes that using 21 to 27 trees per hectare improves botanical composition, forage balance, and dairy production, proving economically viable. Aimed at researchers and professionals in veterinary and agricultural sciences, it contributes to sustainable livestock management practices. |
