Sumario:Lixisenatide (Adlyxine) is a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients uncontrolled on basal insulin with or without oral glucose-lowering agents. The starting dose is 10 mcg once daily for 14 days, then increased to 20 mcg once daily. It is supplied as a solution in a pre-filled injector pen for subcutaneous administration in strengths of 0.05 mg/mL and 0.1 mg/mL, delivering 14 doses of 10 mcg per dose or 20 mcg per dose. The submitted price of lixisenatide is $56.98 per injector pen (regardless of strength) or $1,486 annually.
