The Israel Antiquities Authority undertook the task of saving the ruins of Caesarea and turning them into a tourist heritage site. Archaeological excavations, conservation and reconstruction works, alongside modern use of ancient and historical buildings at the site, have created a visitor experience that combines recreational and cultural activities. The ancient city became a focal point of tourism due to its impressive archaeological heritage. It emphasizes the importance of conservation and conservation maintenance to the presentation of an archaeological heritage site today and in the days to come.
