| Sumario: | The Third Annual SIGCOSIM Technical Symposium was held on October 17 and 18, 1972 at the National Bureau of Standards in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The theme of the 1972 Symposium was "Major Issues Confronting Managers of Computer Resources."Seven papers were presented in three technical sessions related to the meeting's principal theme. The various topics covered by the speakers included the challenges presented to computing management of conversion to the metric system, computer system planning and cost allocation, and management problems of remote access and multivendor computing facilities. Several aspects of computer system performance measurement were the topic of the third session, including program optimization, programmer performance measurement and evaluation, and performance measurement requirements in a non-profit environment, such as a university.
