Sumario: | It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 56th Association of Computing Machinery Annual Computers and People Research Conference - ACM SIGMIS CPR 2019. Over the past 56 years, ACM SIGMIS CPR has consistently engaged the academic and practitioner communities towards understanding issues at the intersection of society, organizations, individuals and information technology (IT). From its roots in the IT workforce, CPR has broadened its focus over the years to address contemporary and some transitory issues in this important and complex relationship between the work, individual, organization, occupation, and society. It is now an opportune time to reflect on the "Enduring Issues in MIS and Work." Towards this end, the papers and panels within this proceeding address enduring topics such as attracting young IT professionals, IT skills portfolios, and IT education. In addition to examining the enduring issues, this edition of the conference looks to newer topics (such as game aesthetics, chatbot acceptance, the ethics of blockchain research) and speculates about the future of the IT workforce. We hope the papers and poster abstracts in these proceedings serve as a valuable reference for researchers and practitioners in the coming years. Putting together the ACM SIGMIS CPR 2019 conference was made possible by the work of many dedicated individuals. We thank the authors for providing content for the program and the program committee and reviewers who helped develop this high-quality program with their developmental comments. We received 42 submissions and accepted 30 papers (acceptance rate of 71.4%) for this edition of the conference. Special thanks go to Sheridan Proceedings Service for their work in processing the proceedings in a timely manner.
