Sumario: | Held in January as part of Australian Computer Science Week, the ACSC 2001 conference yielded 29 selected papers on such far- ranging topics as: a new approach to collaborative frameworks using shared objects; distributed and incremental garbage collection in data stores; Petri Net Script: a visual language for describing action, behavior, and plot; large-scale experiments on corrections of confused word; the intriguingly titled "Reflections on remote reflections"; knowledge-based genetic algorithms; and untraceable off-line electronic cash flow in E-commerce. The volume also includes the student paper judged to be the best of the year, "Length-restricting coding using modified probability distributions." Oudshoorn is at the U. of Adelaide. The conference was hosted by Bond U. and Griffith U. Lacks a subject index. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR.
