Sumario: | It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 1st ACM International Workshop on Future Industrial Communication Networks, FICN 2018, in New Delhi, India. It is a matter of great honor to be a part of the highly esteemed ACM MobiCom conference. Today, communication networks have become a part of our daily life - be it at home, school, college, work, and on the way to work. Moreover, networks are increasingly playing a significant role in industries and factories as well. Given this background, FICN aims to address some of the challenges related to industrial communication networks. Our goal is to identify different technologies that Industry 4.0 can benefit from. At ACM FICN, researchers from industry and academia shall come together to discuss challenges and explore ideas to expand the possibilities of future industries. Moreover, FICN is aimed to provide a unique opportunity to establish a forward-looking collaborative relationship between academics and industry experts. ACM FICN has synthesized an interesting program including oral presentations and keynote talks. The call for papers attracted 14 submissions from industry and academia. After careful review by the technical program committee (consisting of 31 experts from across the world) and an external reviewer, seven (7) full technical papers were accepted, resulting in an acceptance rate of 50%. In addition to that, the program will include two keynote talks from industry and academia. The keynotes will be delivered by Prof. Anurag Kumar (Director, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India) and Linus Thrybom (ABB Corporate Research Center, Sweden).
