Descripción
Sumario:This book addresses the critical public health issue of suicidal ideation during pregnancy, presenting a structured protocol for healthcare professionals to detect and manage this condition. The authors propose an evidence-based approach tailored for pregnant women, recognizing them as a vulnerable group with specific needs. The protocol includes the use of the Prenatal Depression Predictors Inventory-Revised (PDPI-R) and the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) to assess risk levels. The work emphasizes the importance of a specialized protocol due to the higher prevalence of suicidal thoughts during pregnancy compared to the general population. This resource aims to enhance the mental health support provided to expectant mothers, ultimately reducing maternal mortality rates associated with suicide.
