Sumario: | LinkedIn was an early adopter of salt. Within LinkedIn, there are multiple groups with differing requirements. Salt is used by the application support organization (aka SRE). There have been a number of challenges ranging from supporting 30,000+ servers, to having hundreds of contributors. The deployment system now uses the salt-api for deployments. There is an existing metrics system that salt plugs into using the reactor subsystem.
