Sumario:When it comes to diagnosing and solving performance problems with MySQL, the typical trial-and-error approach breaks down when the problems become truly difficult. As the complexity of the problem increases, so does the need for a methodical approach and powerful tools. In this video tutorial, two consultants with Percona -- the international company that specializes in MySQL -- will teach you how to be more systematic. Baron Schwartz and Morgan Tocker start with an overview of the process, and then introduce the tools you need diagnose and fix your system, including iostat, vmstat and mk-query-digest. You'll learn the approach that Percona consultants have put to use across thousands of customer machines. This tutorial is practical and hands-on, with only minimal emphasis on performance theory when needed. The emphasis of this video presentation will be on MySQL versions 5.0 and 5.1, as well as XtraDB on Linux operating systems.
