Sumario:After the lens of Isabel Coixet: Cinema, Commitment and Feminism is the most complete study to date on the work of Isabel Coixet, one of the most prolific, versatile and cosmopolitan filmmakers of the current film scene. The volume examines the production of the Catalan director, from four different angles. The first part covers the general themes of his production: the places, the looks, the textures, the silences and the sounds, and his dialogue with the feminist film theory. The second dissects in detail his fiction films, from Too old to die young (1989) to Learning to Drive (2014). The third focuses on documentaries, their more explicitly social work. And the last one offers a look at the filmmaker beyond her filmic work, thus completing her portrait.
