Sumario:Forming part of a research project on the history of theories of word formation, this volume uses an historiographical approach to review the treatment of compound words in different linguistic traditions - Sanskrit, Greek, Latin, Arabic, Hebrew and German.By approaching its topic in a transdisciplinary way which offers multiple viewpoint, this volume, designed for a readership of linguists, focuses on highlighting the similarities and differences in the way in which different linguistic traditions tackle the theoretical problem of word formation.
