Sumario:The humanities are rapidly saying goodbye to postmodernism. Philosophers, historians, sociologists and anthropologists once again face an intellectual moment. After the linguistic turn and the cultural turn, there is now an ethical turn. In many cultural sciences one tries to make useful use of older traditions and concepts. The humanities carousel maps out this reorientation. This new round in the debate about the relationship between science, politics and culture is first followed at a philosophy of science level. Then the current political discussion about identity, tolerance and solidarity is discussed. Establishing a credible link between morality, politics and science appears to be an exercise in intellectual equilibrium art.
