Sumario: | Although Open Access, that is to say the free and free availability of content on the internet, is now a well-known initiative, there are still very confused ideas and erroneous interpretations about some of its characteristics and its functioning. In this work, Ernest Abadal aims to clarify the most frequent doubts and misunderstandings regarding Open Access, presenting the theoretical basis of this system, the role of scientific journals and the attitude of researchers, as well as an estimate of which are the future prospects. This guide is aimed at academics and university executives as well as publishers and library professionals. The Italian edition was created with the collaboration of Maria Teresa Miconi, professor of Bibliography and Librarianship at the University of Macerata and recognized expert in Open Access. The preface is edited by Giovanni Solimine, professor of Librarianship at the University of Rome La Sapienza, where he is also president of the University Library System and director of the School of Specialization in Archival and Book Heritage. |
