| Sumario: | A young woman who retreats from relationships with men is treated with psychodynamic psychotherapy. The therapist points out what is going on between the patient and himself, using that interaction to explore the meaning the patient gives to both previous and present relationships in her life. They examine together how in therapy the woman is talking in a boring voice and making no eye contact. With a neutral environment provided by the interviewer, they are able to examine early childhood events, events that were very emotional for the patient and have dictated how she has lived life, retreating from men. Together, they reframe the meanings the patient gives to important life events. |
