Sumario:Matthews presents this study on the roles played by NGOs and social movements on intellectual property rights in the developing world. The author focuses on two sets of issues: NGOs' relationship to public access to healthcare and medicine, and NGOs' relationship to agriculture, genetics, and traditional knowledge. Research for this study was conducted in the form of more than 60 interviews with representatives of public interest in both developing countries and the international community.
