Sumario:On the eve of the European elections, certain people seem to question even the very existence of a process of construction of Europe, which instead was – despite all its limitations – an important factor in the Continent’s pacification. The founders of Europe were also all the citizens and towns that resisted the two great dictatorships of the 20th century. This must be clear: to interrupt the European process means, in fact, to evoke spectres which had been silenced. Christians cannot withdraw when confronted with the fulfilment of their historical responsibilities towards the future of our Continent, and this requires precise and coherent political choices.
