Psychosocial effects of screening for disease prevention and detection

As screening programmes for HIV, gene abnormalities and other risk factors continue to proliferate, questions are being raised about the impact of these programmes on the emotions and behaviour of participants. This text explores the psychosocial consequences of risk factor testing.
