In inscribing Schönbrunn, the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO recognised that "the Palace and Gardens of Schönbrunn in Vienna - as a symbol of great heritage and one of the most important corner-stones in the history of Austria - are of outstanding universal value", according to Mounir Bouchenaki, director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre. Die Schloßanlage von Schönbrunn wurde 1996 in die Liste des Weltkulturerbes aufgenommen. Das Welterbe-Komitee der UNESCO anerkannte 1996 mit der Aufnahme Schönbrunns, "daß das Schloß und der Park Schönbrunn in Wien - Wahrzeichen eines großen Erbes und einer der wichtigsten Eckpfeiler der Geschichte Österreichs - von universell herausragendem Wert sind", wie Mounir Bouchenaki, der Direktor des UNESCO World Heritage Center, ausführt. |
