Sumario:Since returning from the hospital, Nicole feels “terrible” and “depressed all the time.” However, when asked about specifics, such as sleep, Nicole’s answers suggest only a slight deviation from normal in her habits. For example, though Nicole claims she wakes up exhausted and has no energy to do anything, she is able to get to work on time. As the clinician points out, though Nicole may feel like she is depressed in contrast to her previous manic state, she is able to sleep, eat regularly, get her kids to school, and go to work. To Nicole, this all represents a change for the worse as during her manic state she had more than enough energy to do everything, her kids loved to be with her, and she was fun. Nicole prefers those times when she is not on her medication.
