Description
Summary:Nicole has been complying with her medications yet feels “so depressed” all the time. When questioned on the specifics, such as sleep, we learn that the reality may not be as negative as Nicole perceives it. Instead of falling asleep at 10PM, now Nicole can’t fall asleep until 11PM and sleeps through the night. She describes being extremely tired when she wakes yet is able to get out of bed, take her kids to school, and go to work. Though tired, she is able to concentrate, cook, and do her normal activities. Her feelings of failure appear rooted in the discrepancy of energy between a prior manic state and her current medicated state. She says she eats less yet eats three meals of day. Nicole feels guilty that she is not a good mother and has suicidal thoughts. Lately, she feels that there is a big change in her energy, and that has resulted in her not being a fun mother who could help her children like she was before.
