R. I. Moore
Robert Ian Moore (8 May 1941 – 5 February 2025) was a British historian who was Professor Emeritus of History at Newcastle University. He specialised in medieval history and wrote several influential works on the subject of heresy. Moore was a pioneer in the UK of the teaching of world history to undergraduate students, published numerous papers on comparative world history, and was series editor of the Blackwell History of the World.
